Desert
Emus and Snakes are the workhorses (around $4,500 and $7,500 per second as plain variants). The Kangaroo is the rarest Desert animal and is the one to chase if you are filling the index.

What Desert looks like
Sand dunes, cacti and cattle skulls.
Reaching Desert is a big jump: the very first animal you usually catch here, the Hamster ($1.5K/s), already earns about 1.5x a plain Lion, the best animal of Savannah.

Ordered the way the zone fills up: front of the zone first, the rarest animal last. “Plain” is a Normal-size catch with no mutation and no 2x Cash. Click an animal for its mutation/size income table and every catch I have recorded.

Best food for Desert
Recommended: Pear, Cheese, Bread. Food does not change how far you throw – Throw Power does – but a higher-tier food rolls rarer animals, mutations and sizes once you land here.

Tips for Desert
- An Emu from a perfect toast or orange throw is one of the best early-game value catches – it outclasses everything you own up to that point.
- Sell your Forest and Savannah leftovers here; the sell menu refunds a little cash and frees slots.
- Hunting the Kangaroo: land on the far edge of Desert with your best food and save lucky throws for it. If you are already past Desert, turn throw strength down with the gear icon.
- Move on once your throws reach Jungle (500 – 720 power) – even its commonest animal beats almost everything here.
