Where to catch the Megalodon
The Megalodon lives in Deep Waters (zone 10 of 17), around the middle of the zone. It is number 4 of 7 in the Deep Waters index. A full-strength throw needs roughly 1,850 – 2,150 Throw Power to land in Deep Waters.
Foods that land here: Golden Apple ($120Qa), Crystal Melon, Ember Lemon. A higher-tier food pushes the roll toward the rarer end of the Deep Waters list, so the newest food you own is always the best bait.
Any throw that lands around the middle of the zone can produce it. If you are hunting it for the index, lower your throw strength with the gear icon until the food lands on that spot – distance inside a zone decides which animals can come.
Is it worth keeping?
- A plain Megalodon earns 13x a plain Velociraptor, the best animal from Prehistoric Forest.
- The best plain earner here is the Mosasaurus ($3.1Qa/s), 1.6x this one.
- The first animal in Hell, the Gargoyle, makes 15x as much – once your throws reach Hell, replace it.
- Keep it longer only if it rolled a strong mutation or size (see the table below) or you need it for the index.
Megalodon income by mutation and size
A plain Megalodon makes $2Qa/s. Mutations and sizes multiply that number, and the two stack. The table below multiplies the plain income by the multipliers I have measured (Gold ×1.5, Diamond ×3, Emerald ×5, Ruby ×10, Rainbow ×20; Big ×2, Large ≈×4.3, Huge ≈×9, Colossal ≈×18.5, Gigantic ≈×37). Treat the size columns as estimates – real catches land a little above or below. With the 2x Cash gamepass every number doubles.
| Mutation \ Size | Normal×1 | Big×2 | Large×4.3 | Huge×9 | Colossal×18.5 | Gigantic×37 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Normal×1 | $2Qa | $4Qa | $8.6Qa | $18Qa | $37Qa | $74Qa |
| Gold×1.5 | $3Qa | $6Qa | $12.9Qa | $27Qa | $55.5Qa | $111Qa |
| Diamond×3 | $6Qa | $12Qa | $25.8Qa | $54Qa | $111Qa | $222Qa |
| Emerald×5 | $10Qa | $20Qa | $43Qa | $90Qa | $185Qa | $370Qa |
| Ruby×10 | $20Qa | $40Qa | $86Qa | $180Qa | $370Qa | $740Qa |
| Rainbow×20 | $40Qa | $80Qa | $172Qa | $360Qa | $740Qa | $1.48Qi |
Megalodon catches I've recorded
Real catch cards. Odds are the “1 in …” number the card shows, which already includes the luck of that throw.
